Bed and Breakfast Tallinn

Do you ever feel like you somehow enjoy staying with friends over hotels? Do you enjoy freshly and with love cooked breakfast over standard, plastic factory-filled containers filled with something that has no taste? Would you rather stay at local’s home and get the best advice regarding things to do in the city? If the answer is yes, then this Bed and Breakfast Tallinn Guide is for you!

Tallinn is an amazing destination in terms of variety of different accommodation options – from 700-year old UNESCO protected buildings, seaside B&B’s, homes with gardens to modern conceptual design apartments.

In this post, we have collected the best small Bed and Breakfast Tallinn hotels and homes where you can be sure to get the attention you deserve as a guest. Having worked in the industry and traveled for many years, small home-based BB’s are my personal favorite, too.

Godart Rooms

One of the best features of our next Bed and Breakfast Tallinn choices is the design of the rooms – a bit futuristic, modern and quite appealing. Also, beds are comfy, breakfast is very good, and the rooms are quiet. However, you won’t be spending much time in the hotel itself, as the old town is right outside the door! Time to explore the museums of old town!

Poska Villa Guesthouse

One more Bed and Breakfast Tallinn option is in Kadriorg district, in historic wooden house from the beginning of the 20th century. Just a few hundred meters away are the Kadriorg Park, Presidential Palace and Kadriorg Art Museum. The whole district played an important role in Tallinn history and today it is one of the most peaceful (and expensive) areas to live. To reach city center, you would have to take a 20-minute walk or take the tram. There are many local restaurants in the area with good prices and wide variety of cuisines.

KODA Stay

Very unique kind of accommodation, that you will probably only find in Tallinn – autonomous cabin-like apartments with great concept and design, practical layout and cozy atmosphere. Even in winter time they are warm and comfortable to stay in. Each room has a patio, which is great in summer months. On the downside – located near quite busy road with lots of traffic.

The Knight House

Our next pick has fantastic location in the old town, in 700-year old building that is UNESCO listed monument. The location is great for both walking and connecting with other cities, because the train station is just a few hundred meters away. You can easily meet new people because the hostel is very small and cozy with relaxing atmosphere. Every morning there is a complimentary breakfast served in the kitchen (pancakes!). You would need to plan your timing, as the kitchen is rather small and may get cramped.

Gotthard Residents

Welcome to the Middle ages! If you’d like to know what it really felt like, consider staying at this amazing property. The rooms and whole interior is well preserved, mixing up stones, white paint and wood. It is very appealing combination, simple, yet with its own character! Located in the heart of old town, you will feel like a true citizen of what once used to be Reval (past name of Tallinn).

Bed and Breakfast Tallinn

Paivilla Boutique Hotel

One of the best Bed and Breakfast Tallinn home stays is Paivilla Boutique Hotel. Located somewhat away from city center, this small and cozy domestic hotel is a great choice for travelers looking for a quiet place to stay. The Villa offers good breakfast every morning. To reach Tallinn city center, you can use public transport (bus, train). The owners are flexible and helpful, ready to answer any question you might have. This villa is especially great if you are traveling with children, because they have their own garden

Harmonie Homestay

Fantastic for summer holiday, this cozy home stay B&B apartment is located in Rocca al Mare district, 1 km from a beach, 600 m from the Estonian Open Air Museum and 1.9 km from the Rocca al Mare Shopping Centre, which is the biggest shopping Centre in Estonia. You can expect to find at the facilities that should be present at a home like this – terrace, private sauna, garden view outside your windows, barbecue facilities. This place is ideal for nature lovers, it is great for biking and long, relaxing walks in the surrounding woods. Tallinn city center can be reached with public transport or taxi/Uber (20-30 min drive).

All of the mentioned B&B’s can be booked on Booking.com.
